Trick or Treat

Calypso's sketch was perfect for the image Grim Reap-Brrr colored with copics and spica purple.  Layered onto a spider web circle die cut, pumpkin & ribbon die cut with a foamy Trick or Treat sentiment.  Black blings and some glitter swirls accent the card all set onto a 6 x 6 card....

Life Goes On...

Well, I've failed.  I tried again and again I failed.  So I'm trying again.. thinking the third time's the charm?!?  What have I failed at?  Well, my walk-run program.  I started out all good and gung-ho, then we went away for a trip, so I didn't do any of the program that week, although we walked a lot.   And then I started again and just didn't coordinate my time to get outside for the exercise.  I went out Wednesday and didn't make it thru the 30 minute session.  I wasn't feeling very good physically or emotionally   Two nights before I was weepy as I was missing our dog.  And then Wednesday morning, I was really really missing my morning cuddle time with Ali.  I had gone out for the walk-run and just didn't have it in me to finish. Rounded back to home, dragged my sorry butt up to the shower and by the time Boyd came home, he found me standing in the kitchen weeping.  It wasn't a good day.  So... I am again going to start on Monday with Day 1 Week 1.  Ya know... it's all okay... I'm still committed to doing it and I now I will succeed.  I'm entitled to have some yucky moments here and there...

Quite quiet here on the home front... fall is coming and even though we've had awesome days... the nights are definitely getting crisper... I'll be needing to tending to my seasonal plants and start to move them indoors...

It always special when you can do a Guest Designer spot with a challenge and I am excited to say that I am in such a position with Fetch A Sketch for their current challenge Fetch A Sketch #59 along with teamie Calypso...

The sketch was pretty straight forward and thankfully I can modify it a bit with Fetch A Sketch's rules... LOL.  Now the thought behind the tropical fishes was a cartoon drawing I have on my bulletin board.  

I guess looking at it now, the card doesn't really make sense! LOL

Life Goes On...

Hi again!  I'm really behind on all my posting so I'm trying to catch up!  Yikes!  Seemed like all the deadlines came at once...

If you've noticed, I've changed my profile picture on my blog.  My (big) sister - actually she's shorter than me! LOL  - was visiting for a couple of days and she is newly professional photographer and wanted to take some shots of Boyd and I and profile shots of me .... I'd have to say I feel I'm not so photogenic!  But being a pro, she did get a good photo of me... My long hair was up in a twist so you can really see my face!  LOL

Its been a busy busy week & weekend ... a 50th birthday celebration, breakfasts, lunches and dinners... I'm stuffed, stuffed and more stuffed... and the celebrations will still go on as I have a couple of dinners coming up this week too....

Hey Tweetie!

Such a Tweet challenge!  I used Birdie on a Wire from Doodle Pantry along with 2 of the accompanying sentiments for this  5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card. I duplicated and flipped the image and inserted the sentiments to try to make a cohesive flow.  Colored with copics all popped up onto a collection of decorated papers, rick rack border and some ribbon and bling.

Life Goes On...

Its a beautiful sunny day here in the Okanagan.... we've had some days (and thunderous nights) with rain - much needed but the sun is so warm and welcoming. 

I am back to my walk run program tomorrow.  I did take some time off to rehab my knee, bike trip and family visits which seem to take priority rather than exercising...  I'm looking forward to getting back at it even though its a bugger... you feel so much better after.  And I have some cool core exercises that I am wanting to try.  All in good time!  
I'm short and sweet today... I am in real life that too!  LOL

I decided to do a very very simple CAS card design with the Seeds of Love image from Scribbles Designs by directly printing the image onto the cardstock .. added the sentiment from Lisa D of Decosses Dynamite Doodles (& PoP) with a blinged fabric flower....  with the tangle images I think they can be somewhat intimidating as you could color them entirely, or only add a bit of color (with copics which is what I have done) or leave the image in black & white, or yet even print the image in color.... whew.... okay, lots of choices and yeah maybe a bit intimidating LOL

• This month, prizes will be the following:

Life Goes On...

Well, I am soooooooooooooooo late in getting this posted, sorry my sweet Lisa D!!!  I had all intentions of getting this posted on the right day and time and *POOF!* Gone! Zippo! Whoosh!  I'm not as organized as others in setting up my posts to go live at a certain time.  I should be though doncha think? Chalk it up to crazy busy at work, crazy busy at home, and just generally crazy busy - LOL  no excuse though.  And to top it off my Scribbles Designs is the guest sponsor this month for Path of Positivity... whoops!

We have a visitor this weekend... my older sister.... it's been awhile for her to visit us - for various reasons which explaining would take for-ev-er...so rather than go into that, she's here for 4 days and we've been all over the place... shopping, farmer's market, greenhouses, lavender farm, so it's been a busy couple of days so far... 

My thoughts and prayers go to my GF Calypso... having a bit of time right now and we all hope things work out well... C, if you're reading this... big hugs to you...

I had printed this image Leaf Doodle 2 directly onto the cardstock  colored with copics and added the handwritten 'Thanks' to complete this CAS card. I didn't even get a little bit of bling on there... now that's keeping it really CAS for me!

Life Goes On...

so yes,,, the hummingbird post - it'll happen...

I've been busy with lots of new images to Scribbles Designs store and I'm so excited to see what's happening with them.  I added about 30  - some small - some larger, and I have at least that many coming out again.  Trying to build up the catalog of images.  My goal is to have it supplement my daytime job.... one has to have goals right?

I'm a curvy body type - okay super squishy, uhm rather - cushiony - gulp! Now I've said that to blogger world.  And now for the next - I am on a walk run program - yikes - now that's out there too.  Boyd is my accountability partner and I'm continuing to eat healthier and exercise more. I really need to shed some pounds - more so for health reasons.  And I need to keep track of my body more. While on our bike trip, I kept dropping things (expensive motorbike things) and it bothered me as when I got home I looked up the symptoms of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) as I had a little panic attack that I was starting symptoms.  For some history about me (& family) my Mom passed away 20 yrs ago with ALS and there is a 5-10% chance of it being hereditary.  I'm not thinking that I have indeed self diagnosed myself but I will admit it is in the back of my mind.  I talked to Boyd about it and we put it to just not paying attention.  I'll go with that for now... :)    I'm on track for a healthier lifestyle - I'd like to work on my cardio and heart health as well.  I plan on being here for a long while yet so nothing like coming onto 50 and reprogramming one's life!  LOL

Wel... enough for me now... off to enjoy some our fabulous sunshine...

Life Goes On...

How's everyone today??? 
I have two posts to catch up on so it'll be a Life Goes On segment split over the two! :)
It's been a better week than the last and only hope that it goes better the upcoming weeks.  The weather has given us a hot long weekend and the sunshine and vitamin D is so helpful! 
I'm enjoying the time to sit down and doodle and create and partake with the challenges that I belong to.
I've been asked when the hummingbird post will come up.  I can't believe how many photos I am going thru - trying to pick the best and continue the write up...
It will be here, I promise!
