    Scribbles Designs is FIVE!!!

Scribbles Designs is celebrating its 5th birthday this month!
On January 15, 2013, we had our very first challenge.
Five years later we're still going strong.
In fact, we've grown yet again!

Our team is now larger with a total of nine full time members!
Lisa have been beside my side since the beginning,
Nick came on just four months later in May of 2013,
and Suze started the following year in Jan. 2014.
Diane Louise joined us after a DT Call in March of 2016 and then
both Pat and Pippa joined us after being a guest for a three month term--
Pat in April of 2016 and Pippa a year later in April of 2017!
Most recently we have acquired two new people--
    Helen Lori--who officially start today!
(Previous to today, I had the opportunity to have some incredible designers on our DT... Nazeema, Cely, Archana, Deanne, Sam S, Kel, Sue, Jennifer S, Jennifer D, Shirl, Sherri, Ike, Sharla, Peggie Sue, Sandy J, Gail, AJ, Katrina, Borqna, Helen, Dorothy, Dawn, Donna.... Oh my...I'm sure I'm missing someone...

In addition to the Bi-Weekly GDT Showcases that we added last year,
we also now have a Monthly Inspiration Post where we feature
extra projects made by DT and GDT alike!
Our Freebie Fridays has transitioned into a Flash Freebie
and we've increased the number of Challenge Blogs we sponsor each year!

The store has grown to sell over 780+ Scribbles Designs images
plus there are over 150 FREEBIES!
The store continues to sell Scribble Doodle Designs
(a collaborative effort between myself (Sandy S.) & Lisa D.)
and is still home to selling designs by Décosse's Dynamite Doodles as well!

    We've accomplished a lot in
and we plan on accomplishing a lot more!!!

This year, we have decided to celebrate with a combined
    Challenge AND New Release Party!

    STAND BY...
     Our 5th Birthday Party Blowout

First things First!  Tomorrow, January 16th, will be the first day of a THREE DAY New Release Party showcasing three fabulous new sets that Sandy has been hard at work putting together!

On each of those days we'll spotlight one of the new sets along with providing samples from each of the Design Team Members and Guests for this quarter. While normally Lisa D. would have introduced the new guests on the second Saturday of the month (which was the 13th), our two new guests will instead be joining us for the New Release Party.

On each day of the New Release Party you will have the opportunity to win one of the images from the set. In fact, each of the DT Members and our Guests will be giving out the main image they used on their project to one lucky commenter on their individual blog. Then, for your chance to earn the full set of the day, you'll need to leave comments on the individual blogs listed PLUS on the New Release post itself.

So, GET READY to be blown away by all the new
images and samples we have lined up for you!

Next Up, today will also mark the start of our latest challenge! Be sure to play along for your chance to win some wonderful prizes! One Lucky winner will have the opportunity to win ALL THREE of the sets released this week, by following our instructions carefully!

GET SET, to enter a project into our challenge!

But that isn't all!  Over the course of the next month, we're going to have some limited time freebies, possibly a flash freebie and some special events you can participate in for your chance to win additional goodies! Be sure to follow us by email so that you don't miss a thing!

     Our 5th Birthday Party Blowout
starts right now and YOU are all invited!!!

As mentioned above, we are going to start today off with our regularly scheduled challenge. Here is what you need to know to enter:

It is time to go and grab a party hat and light up exactly FIVE candles on the birthday cake! While you are at it, hang some streamers and blow up a few balloons too. Scribbles Designs has just turned FIVE and you are all invited to join in the birthday celebration!

In honour of this special occasion, it is only fitting that the theme of our challenge be all about birthdays--yours, mine, a family member's, a friend's, or even an acquaintance's. Hey, maybe you even want to create a card just to wish Scribbles Designs a happy birthday! It doesn't matter who's birthday you are celebrating or how many candles are on the cake. Simply design a card commemorating someone's birthday, or create some other kind of project that celebrates the spirit of birthdays. Maybe you'd like to make some invites for a birthday party of someone who'll be celebrating soon. Perhaps you'd like to design some decorations for an upcoming birthday party. Maybe there is a scrapbooking layout from a recent birthday celebration that you'd like to finally put together and get into an album. Whatever birthday themed project you decide to create, we'd love for you share it with us. Let the birthday blowout begin!

We are so thankful that you are here with us on our little spot in blog-land today and are hopeful that you'll be able to join us for this special challenge. Any questions about the challenge? Please read our  Rules located in the right sidebar.

If you would like to purchase a Scribbles Designs image click HERE.

I (Sandy S.) am happy to provide you with a limited time freebie for participating. This sentiment is from one of the new sets being released sometime in the next 3 days:
do head over to the Challenge Blog to grab the limited time freebie without the watermark

Be sure to grab it now because it will be back in the store on February 15th!

On January 16th, 17th, and 18th, we will share how you can win a copy of the main image used on the DT projects, along with instructions for how to win the set presented on each of the new release days.

      2. Enter a card into the Birthday Party Blowout Challenge using a Scribbles Designs image. If you are new to Scribbles Designs you can use the freebie offered above or any of the other freebies available in the store (click on the link to go to the store and look for 'Free' under Categories in the sidebar).

    OMG! I'm back!!!!!!!!

OMG!  I'm back!!!!!!!!   After a very.... very.... VERY... long hiatus from my blog - I am finally back.

Lots to catch up on my friends.  And even more to do.  I will try to condense it down as best I can.

    Welcome to another
    Scribbles Designs Challenge
    Thank You...

One of the fun images from Scribbles Designs, Scary Cat and Thank You all on a multi coloured background which I drew the colour inspiration from the challenge.  I loved the colours and found myself drawn to a simplicity of design.
    courtesy Jill Wellington, Pixabay

I used the Scary Cat image with Glossy Accents on top and fussy cut around both images.   A terra cotta colour band, a strip of scrap paper - which the colours worked out very well; and a bit of black blings.   Check out the store blog and challenge blog and join us in the challenge,  there is even a freebie for you!

    Life Goes On...
Well, it's been quite a while with my LGO segment.  We've been uber busy with many things in our lives and seems like it's just passed along so very fast.

The above was from my last post.  Wow.  It has been awhile.

Firstly, I must thank my left, right, whole torso and brain, Lisa D for keeping SD going.  I found that I just couldn't get my life in order to keep up with all of the design and life in general.

And to be very forthright and honest.  I've been battling food addiction and depression.  There I've said it.  It has taken me a very long time - over 20 years - to figure out the source of my weight gain journey.  Now that I have; I have been turning my life around to become healthier and happier.  Yes, I am deeply in love with Boyd. Yes, we have our wonderful dog. Yes, I still have my job.   I challenged and also committed myself when Boyd went for surgery - two years ago - on his reconstructed ankle that I would finish the West Coast Trail with him.  IT WAS HELL!  But folks!  I did it!  I did the West Coast Trail.  And bugger it, I am hooked on hiking with Boyd.  So much so that we're planning our next summer hike - a five to six day hike on the Sunshine Coast Trail.  And then to do the West Coast Trail the following year.  I was in decent shape, yes, with some weight loss and toning but it did kick my ars BIG TIME - and I am determined to conquer the WCT again. Eeegadd!

My time away has also had me on a journey with a very close friend and her battle with breast cancer.  That in itself, is my inspiration. My gawd; my Carol has been a fighter.  And I love her to bitzies.

My very good and close friend, Pam, has been busy with her life and now has a new puppy, Chloe, who is a little (full) sister to our Charli.  They have an Aladdin Cocker Spaniel again in their house.  That brings me much joy.  I haven't spent enough time with Pam.  Love her to bitzies too!

Charli - he's now 3 1/2 yrs old.  We have a 5 (or more, I have to figure that out) obedience and rally obedience titles together and we're back to training up to 3x a week on the different disciplines.  We stepped back from competition a bit to re-set our connection and re-focus our efforts.  We both LOVE the sport and get to spend time 'playing' and learning together.

As promised... I had to condense this down to tidbits.... I will try to fill in the blanks.  LOL  I do have to also get up E A R L Y for work.

    Thought for the day...

    Life Goes On...
Well, it's been quite a while with my LGO segment.  We've been uber busy with many things in our lives and seems like it's just passed along so very fast.

Charli is now close to 18 months old and he's quite a dog.  A diverse personality and certainly lives up to his name of Aladdin's Good Time Charli.  He even has his own Facebook Page...
We've had our first obedience trial with him at the beginning of July in 35ºC weather and it was a very very good learning experience for both Charli and myself.  I have a great support team behind me with Boyd, his parents, Carol & Rob (breeders, coach & mentors) and Gwen (coach & mentor) in our training.  We trialed for the first time and there are 5 exercises to do to qualify.  Charli and I got 3 out of the 5.  Not bad for being nervous!  The next day, we got 2 out of 5 and fun enough, we passed the two that we failed the day before and failed the 3 that we had passed the day before.  Our third day we passed 3 of the 5.... sigh.... I can't be disappointed as the second day was full, I mean full of distraction for him and he found it all too interesting rather than listen to me... I'm proud of our little guy and he received a lot of complements that when his "on" he's brilliant.  The show was also a conformation show (meaning the best of breed, best of show etc) and our breeder is well known for her dogs.  It's a whole world of who's who and dog gossip etc...
Charli will start agility competition in a couple of months...I had hoped he'd be ready this month but my coach kindly suggested that I should wait.  He's not quite there... *smile*

I've been also busy starting up my mobile eyelash extension business.  I completed my course in the spring and have a small clientele selection started.  It'll grow as I have spare time between work and dog classes/competitions... I'm also taking courses to keep up with the new advances in the business and it's very 'detailed' work and I enjoy it!

My sweet Boyd is doing much better and is on the home stretch for one of his bucket list items.  He and his best friend will be on the West Coast Trail a gut-testing grueling 5-7 day hike as of the 18th of this month.  He's been busy training for it with his back pack and getting prepared for the 7-11km daily hikes.  If you don't know about the WCT - do check out the link above.  We've had a few bumps along the way with emergency surgery and a battle of stress induced 'fun' for the last month and a bit but he's mended up quite nicely and is so looking forward to doing the hike.  It is planned again for next year with one other hiker in the mix - me! I have to start training soon, shedding some weight and building up leg and cardio strength...

And on that note... I should close as I do have to finish my shift here at work...

    Thought for the day...

    have a great one...

    Welcome to

A unique challenge blog designed to inspire, nurture

    Challenge #29 Opportunity

In the Middle of Difficulty Lies Opportunity

This card was a challenge for me, not in the design or coloring but in the assembly.  It seemed like the art gremlins were playing quite a game in my studio.  Between putting the die cut upside down, flowers popping off and sticking to another spot on the card and then the card itself toppling over all on its own... sigh....
    Anyhow... I survived...LOL
I've used the image Skylar and Friends Signs of Spring from Oddball Art Co colored with copics.  Layered onto card stock with a die cut and mullberry background.  Added a collection of flowers and butterfly.  The sentiment is by our very own Lisa D of Path of Positivity and the sentiment is available to you too!

    Happy Birthday, Big Guy!

    Scribbles Designs Challenge #29
    "B" is for...

Brads, buttons and beads, oh my! There are so many different kinds of embellishments or accessories that you can add to a card to give it just that perfect touch. Mirror that with some beautiful images and papers, come up with the perfect palette and you have a creation on your hands worthy of showcasing. This month we want to see your creativity in using as many elements and concepts as you can, that start with the letter 'B'. Get those brilliant brains busy and brainstorm up a beautiful, beguiling, blueprint built, befitting the best of the 'Bs'!

    Happy Birthday, Big Guy!

"B" is for.... Border, Buttons, Brads, Bling, Blue, Bulldozer and Brown... I found a lot of items that started with "B"...

I colored the Bulldozer image with copics and then went into my paper stash for the kraft (brown) and blue papers... and then into more stash of the add ons...  I'm quite liking this manly card!
