A Unique Blog Hop... Getting To Know My Creative Side....

Welcome to Monday....  I have something different for you today.... I hope you enjoy it as it was fun to join my bloggie buddies on this little creative excursion....grab your fav beverage and sit awhile with me here...

I was tagged onto this hop by a very dear friend, fellow teamie and my best cheerleader... Lisa of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles...  she tagged me on this post here...and if you'd like to go take a peak at her blog, I'm sure she'd be thrilled!

Let me tell you about my bloggy bestie Lisa... She is one of the most creatively driven person that I know... she has her own blog Decosse's Dynamite Doodles plus a very unique blog Path of Positivity which has one to be retrospective with a word (theme) challenge each month...plus is a inaugural team member of my challenge blog Scribbles Designs, and also is the Strategic Content Developer for Scribbles, writing up fabulous script about the new images that are created for the Scribbles Designs store.  Add Creative Bug, Fresh Brewed Designs, Ike's World, Nicecrane Designs, Pattie's Creations and plenty Guest Designer spots on other challenge blogs.

Lisa has a fabulous creative side to her work that expands fully into the digital world and amongst all the above, she creates beauty as a conduit to all her followers in blog land.

She's been cheer-leading me, setting me straight, coaching me, and all-in-all keeping me focused, for which I am greatful to have her by my side.  And she's a fellow Canadian! How cool is that?

A bit (or a bite) about me....
I've been creative (drawing, painting, calligraphy and more) since as far as I can remember.   My Mom was creative in her own right with her floral designs and along with her, my influence was definitely attributed to my Gram Emily (my Mom's Mom)...
I followed my passion into a career of Interior Design for many years, all the while keeping my creative side flowing with art.  While in technical school, I met a guy by name of Boyd, who was quite fabulous in Levi jeans (that's what I saw first, or maybe second  LOL), and we created our own design team for the past 31 years (26 years married) with Boyd being the straight & precise architectural and myself being the free flowing creative out-of-the box.

How did I start this creative blogging journey....  you know I'm really not quite clear... I started blogging about 4 years ago... and wasn't really sure what I'd blog about... as I wasn't much of a daily journal type person.  Although I had always loved creating cards and adding my own drawings/watercolor painting/calligraphy to them and quite literally fell into greeting card challenge blogs and design team challenges.  From being on my first Design Team, to my second, it spurred the desire in me to have my own Design Team to have fun with my digital images... from that Scribbles Designs Challenge blog and Scribbles Designs was launched.  I have very key members who are with me through this creative journey and they area an incredible design family as well... I am so honoured and humbled by their belief in myself and my designs and there endless creativity that comes so freely from their hands...  I have big spots in my heart for Calypso, Lisa and Cely... and can't be without with Sam, Nick, Vicky, and Suze.... do pop over to their blogs and see their fabulous creations!

I'd be remiss in to not tell you about Pam... I've known Pam for gosh! has it been 24 years already Pammie?   She is my BFF, my mentor and also my other rock... Pam has such a gentle creative soul and is always there for me with a hug, laugh and creative muse.... Love you, Pam...

What am I working on right now...  I've been back into beading a bit lately.  I've been creating what I call Tranquillity bracelets...  wrapped beaded bracelets with little treasures on them.    Also found a revitalized love for my doodling by creating artwork tangles (Zentangle) and always adding more digital stamp images.

one of my newest images

One of my tangles...

What do I create... I'm not a scrap-booker... although I LOVE all the supplies.... I saw recently this little quote which had Boyd howling as it is so true....

Busted!!!!

I create cards, lots of them, sometimes too often.  My format is usually 6x6 and the occasional 5x7 card but like with shiny blingy objects, I can get distracted...much like below...

Why do I create...  I love to share beauty... to share a feel good moment... to keep it pretty simple... it's also an escape... I can slip away hours at a time... it's my grounding...

Do I have a style... do I?  I dunno... I love to try different things... different layouts, different techniques... I'm eclectic... definitely...

I love colour,  always will...  give me my purples, teals and greens, throw in some red or yellow to accent and wowzers... you got me hook, line and sinker...

I want you to pop over to some of my creative friends who also have shared their creative journey with you....

Cely
Cely is a teamie and a new friend... she's been travelling across the ocean, across land and back again to land on the Pacific side of the US (Washington state)....which means she's quite closer to me now!  LOL

She is a card making machine and her style is so much fun...

Lisa
Lisa is also a creative powerhouse.... you'll see when you drop over to her blogs that she has going on... lots of fun, creativity and positive posts.... she is a real cheerleader for all of us here in blogland... do check her blogs out....

And a big thank you for hanging in this long on this post.  Thanks for letting me share with you... I have many blog friends and they have so much to share creatively... popping over to the links I have noted will delve you into a creative world ... go and enjoy the journey...

And without those creative people... I wouldn't be here... creating and loving every moment of it... thank you for you!

Sandy

Hi Sandy! You have a wonderful creative journey! It's amazing how things ebb and flow as we find outlets for it.
I'm packing my creative "stuff" away in prep for a move, but am finding that my creativity is spilling out in other avenues that are still outside of a box. :)
Praying you have a beautiful day!
