In the Middle of Difficulty Lies Opportunity

This card was a challenge for me, not in the design or coloring but in the assembly.  It seemed like the art gremlins were playing quite a game in my studio.  Between putting the die cut upside down, flowers popping off and sticking to another spot on the card and then the card itself toppling over all on its own... sigh....

Anyhow... I survived...LOL

I've used the image Skylar and Friends Signs of Spring from Oddball Art Co colored with copics.  Layered onto card stock with a die cut and mullberry background.  Added a collection of flowers and butterfly.  The sentiment is by our very own Lisa D of Path of Positivity and the sentiment is available to you too!

Challenge #26 Perseverance 

It Is What It Is...

I loved this image from Ike's Art... Flower Square and wanted it to be colored with bright flowers with a simple background....  Also, I hadn't used my polymer stamps and embossing powders like for-ev-er... and found this pattern stamp which gave the flower power feel all over.  I used the same copics that I had used on the Ike's image for the background stamped image.  The sentiment is from our very own Lisa D and I thought that it too worked well with this theme.

I've been having a lot of perseverance and patience this last while...  I'm on the next phase of training with Charli and his agility and we're getting closer and closer to competing.  He will be able to compete once he's 18 months old so perseverance and patience and practice is our mantra these days... he even got a new agility collar/lead from a great company 4 On The Floor Dogwear, located near Vancouver, BC.  He'll use it 'officially' when he goes up to the starter level as he uses his standard clip collar in the pre-starter level.   At the pre-level, they can wear a collar, whereas the starter level they run 'naked' (without a collar).  This new agility collar and lead has a slip on collar that slightly tightens to stay put and a fun blue and white 'Woofstock' pattern.  It's a whole new world of performance dog shows!

Birthday Serendipity...

this month's theme is Serendipity at PoP... I loved this image from Sami Stamps, Umbrella Splash and it to me worked perfectly with the theme.  Splashing in a puddle during a warm summer rain sprinkle offers such unknown happenings... 

I colored the image with copics then layered the image along on top of purple mulberry paper and polka dotted DP.  The card is a pre-printed card that worked great for the image.  The sentiment are little letter stickers.

('Scuz me in advance... swear words coming...)

You know...I'm not defined by the misconceptions of others.  People who think they know me in fact, do not know me. (People who come into, have been invited (sorry to sound pompous) my inner circle, you do know me.)  To think that your words (and actions) would have the devastating results that you thought (or hoped for) is ridiculous.  Having that negativity, which you think is 'being there for you' and 'caring' is pure bullshit. And the comments that I hide behind walls and I have issues to deal with.  Again... bullshit.  Years of counselling has brought me this far and I consider myself pretty well balanced.  I 'shine'.  Blasphemous & accusatory comments will only continue you to not be welcome at my door.  I don't need the negativity energy encompassing myself, my husband or my dog. I hope that you will get some enlightenment and understanding it's not all about you.  And remember, there are mirrors everywhere.

Shrug.... enufff!!!

It's a sunny day here today... loving it... and I'm out doing my walks/runs (yes, again for the 7th or 8th start at it..LOL)

Serendipity - perfect for a unexpected pleasant travel adventure... I found this image from the Travel Collection by Luna Girl and found my heart going to the Canadian Pacific image - although it was hard to choose from the collection.

Courage... it is so encompassing.  I'm finding a close friend is battling Cancer and is beating the battle at least for now. I see her courage, miffing at the fears and uncertainty that is around her; yet having all the grace and beauty to get up each day, go to work, be with her family and her dear sweet gran baby...  that my friends... is courage.

Using the Chickadee image from Sparkle n Sprinkle and sentiment from Lisa D (which you can collect from the blog) on a layered 6"x6" based card.  Added a scalloped edged paper and pearls to finish with a easy accent...

In this month of courage and giving thanks, this sentiment says a lot for me.  I find humbleness as friends are fighting a fight against Cancer and that they have the courage to get up every day, set their mind to live their life with dignity, faith and determination. It reminds oneself to be real and to be conscious of others that they too have their own battles and triumphs.

And in giving thanks for the goodness in our lives, spending time with family and friends.  Hopefully you've had some time for thankful gathering this weekend.

Life Goes On...

It's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and it's been a beautiful weekend. We hope that you had a great weekend and were able to enjoy some time with family and friends.

Charli is still in recovery from his neutering.  It was more than a standard neuter as he never distended so he ended up having more of a spay type surgery.  He's been quite a suck and has had only two speeds - stop or frenzy fast.  Needless to say getting him to settle down to do his business has been a bit of a challenge and to keep him from licking the incision.   We tried the 'cone of shame' for about 5 minutes and then had thought of another option.  Off to the store to get some baby onsies and small boys underwear.  We cut off the arm sleeves of the onsies, added a tail hole to both garments and viola! Protection for him to not lick. We hope that the remainder of the week goes easier for him as the days go along...
